Congratulations!

Team Synchro ERP would like to congratulate our newest customer, Texas Aluminum Foundry, on making the all important decision to go with the global leading platinum provider of metalcasting specific software!

End of May - Start of June 2013

Howdy from Texas where it's 99f outside on the last day of May,

Summer has arrived, and along with it, even though it's still officially Spring time, this part of the world is focused on thunderstorms.

Simply beyond words the recent tornado that slammed Moore Oklahoma USA

BEFORE AND AFTER, Moore, Oklahoma

Simply amazing, when you think about it, that the loss of life was not much greater than it was.  Had it been during the dead of night or perhaps during rush hours, it could have been far worse.

I wanted a PBS NOVA episode the other night on TIVO,  Oklahoma's Deadliest Tornadoes , and this monster was on the ground for like 45 minutes!  They were talking about how much progress really has been made on warnings and that this tornado started outside of town, giving additional time to get out of harms way.

Where I am in Texas, we do get this strange creatures, but nothing like up in Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri.  I have no storm shelter, so we'll just crawl into the hall and pull a mattress over our selves or hop in the bath tub, serious.  Bath tubs are an ideal place to ride out the storm and are the suggested place to go unless you have a shelter.

Anyway, things are going exceedingly well at Synchro ERP.  Richy is just returning from a jaunt to the eastern part of  the globe and Simon and Daniel will be on this side of the pond.

Anyway, say good bye to May and hello to June...

Until next time, see you on down the road.

Planning for the Future

Howdy from Texas where Summer is upon us,

I'm just back from a little R&R camping at a nearby lake, nearby by Texas standards at least, only 3.5 hour drive away!  Funny thing is, I neglected to take a single picture.  I was just pulling out of the camping spot and realized that I had never taken the camera out of the truck.  So unlike me.  I guess it was because we had such a great time.  We had a nice secluded campsite and all of the campers nearby were well behaved.  Sometimes in state parks you have to deal with campers that want YOU to listen to THEIR TYPE of MUSIC.  Weather was good, kinda warm on Sunday, ok, it was HOT.

As this was the Memorial Day weekend, the park was pretty crowded and the LE's, Law Enforcement, were out in full force making sure that peace and harmony prevailed.  They were writing up tickets left and right on the boat ramp for no horns, too many people on the boat, not enough life jackets, etc.  Of course, they generally waited to do an inspection until the boaters were pulling out of the water, hoping to catch some BWI's - Boating While Intoxicated.  We didn't have a boat, so we did a lot of mountain bike riding on the various trails and also taking lazy afternoon naps in the cool air conditioning of the camper.  The food was just great as well.

Anyway, Planning for the Future, be sure to check out the current issue of the new digital only magazine from the fine folks at Modern Casting.   Pages 71-72 has a great article on Synchro ERP.

Until next time, see you on down the road...

Let's Go Hunting Rabbits...

Howdy from Texas,

We're hunting rabbits in Texas for some good ole Welsh Rabbit.  Yes, I know it is Welsh Rarebit...  I remember the first time I met up with Rincewind AKA Lee and said I wanted some Welsh Rabbit...  He almost died laughing and almost plunged us off the road.  Turns out, for 40 some odd years of my life I thought it was Welsh Rabbit, not Welsh Rarebit...  Welsh Rarebit as it turns out has no rabbit in it, it's really just a glorified cheese sandwich...

Here is my hunting dog Wyatt Earp struggling to kill a rabbit that ventured into the yard.

Certainly not for the faint of heart!

Hunting rabbits is such a tiring process...

All is well in the land of Synchro ERP.  Plans are already being made for the upcoming NFFS and ICI in October as well as the AFI. Chris, Simon, and Shane will be attending the ICI-Investment Casting Institute and Simon and I will be at the NFFS-Non Ferrous Foundry Society and Jean-Marie will be solo at the AFI - Australian Foundry Institute.

As I type this, Richy and Jean-Marie are in the UAE with a massive implementation in progress.

Anyway, happy hunting and until next time, see you on down the road...

Here's To You Momma!

Howdy from Texas,

Just a brief tribute to all the mothers of the world, here's to my mother and all the others.  We celebrated Mothers Day here in the states yesterday.  This was my mothers 50th Mothers Day!  Looking good mom!  We had a fine seafood meal for lunch, getting there when they opened at 10:30am to beat the inevitable rush.  By 11am, they were standing at the door in line!  We beat the crowd.

Couldn't have done it w/o you mom - I owe you so much.

Love your Loving Son...

Until next time, see you on down the road.

We've Always Done it This Way...

Howdy from a soaking wet Texas this Friday,

I just recalled a story when a professor friend of mine and I were discussing "doing things the same way".  What brought this up is that our alma marter has relentlessly and under protest from the President and the Board of Regents,  agreed to go to two graduation ceremonies.  The University has grown and the graduating class is bursting the seams of the coliseum.  The lack of parking and space is a real inconvenience on those attending, especially those with special needs.  It had become a fire hazard as well with people standing and sitting on the steps.

"This is not the way we do things, we only have one graduation."  "Having two graduations will take away from the purpose of graduation"  "Having two graduations will mean that the speaker, the President, and the Board of Regents will have to go through this two times".

I am really surprised the President and Board of Regents didn't "solve" the problem by deciding to build a grand new coliseum to handle all the students at once...  Put some more costs on the backs of students and leave even more of a "legacy" with another named building...

Momma, a small child asks, why do you always measure the ham at 6" and cut it before baking it?  Mother - well, I've always done it this way as I learned it from your grandmother.  I really don't know why, but there must be a reason. Small child goes and asks grandma, "grammy why do we cut the ham at 6""  - Grammy responds, when I was cooking hams years ago during the great depression, I only had a 6" pan to cook the ham in, so I had to measure it.... and cook it as two hams...

Moral of the story, is your metalcasting stuck with a 6" pan when you really need a 12" pan?  Synchro ERP can be your 12" pan and assist you in streamlining your operations and improving your profitability.

Until next time, see you on down the road...

Paying to Use Software

Good Spring morning from Texas,

There in an interesting read in the Houston Chronicle that I thought I would pass along...

Paying monthly for Photoshop may be good for you

The Synchro ERP pricing model is also based on the "pay to use" philosophy.  It's like paying for electricity or water, you pay for what you use on a monthly basis - a utility.  Synchro ERP is a tool, a utility, to assist your metalcasting operations in all facets of daily production.  At the end of the day, the battle over profits and losses is won or lost on the foundry floor - and Synchro ERP can go a long ways to managing your costs and improving your profits.

The basis for the Synchro ERP pricing model is that there are no upfront or hidden costs.  We do not ask you for a large capital outlay to start with.  We realize that you are not giving us a "blank check".  Being a business, we do have to make a "normal" profit, and in order to make that profit to stay in business, we make our money long term - by providing outstanding support and keeping our customers satisfied and thus keeping customers long term.

This pricing model makes the Synchro ERP solution afforadable for any sized metalcaster!  As a testament to the affordability, we make all of our prices and provide tools for "good faith estimates" right on our website for everyone to see.

Licensing Costs

Training & Implementation Costs

So, when you are ready to see everything that Synchro ERP has to offer, request a demonstration.  After the demonstration, you can even put the software through it's paces for thirty days with no cost and no obligation.  We even provide you with support and mini-training sessions during the thirty days.

Demonstration Request

Thirty Day Trial

Until next time, see you on down the road.

The Pros from Dover...

The "Pros from Dover", in case you are not old enough to remember, :), was a line from the original movie MASH released in 1970.  "Pros from Dover" refers to the experts, the outsiders that are brought in to solve problems.  Synchro ERP knows metalcasting.

Until next time, see you on down the road somewhere...
