Howdy from Texas,
Shane Allen, Head of Synchro ERP North American Operations, coming at ya with my Texas twang!
I think I have put my suitcase away for a while, as I've been a traveling man as of late. CastExpo was beyond belief , the economic recovery is obviously well in hand. In looking around at the show floor, it looked like every piece of heavy equipment was "sold" and some of them had "sold" signs on them even before the show started! I'm referring to the "big" heavy duty industrial equipment here of the likes of core machines, molding machines, etc.
Just as soon as I was back from CastExpo, I packed my suitcase again and headed to the AFS Texas chapter meeting in Corsicana Texas - up near Dallas. The Dallas area is also known as DFW (Dallas Fort Worth and the Metroplex). Early reports indicate that over $18,000 was raised at the meeting for the scholarship fund. Synchro ERP sponsored a golf hole, and of course, I had to play golf as well. :) I have picked up a very nasty hook that I need to work out. The team I was on didn't win, but we didn't finish last either. The important thing was that we had great fun and raised a lot of money for a very good cause.
...and again, just as soon as I was back from Corsicana, I made a quick run to H-Town, Houston, for an on-site sales demonstration which was very successful. Synchro ERP has so much to offer the global metalcaster, where ever their operations maybe located.
Up next, I have a slew of demonstrations slated in the coming days and weeks as a result of the very positive response at CastExpo with more to schedule as well as more than likely more on-site visits to close the deal. We were literally overran at CastExpo and there were four of us on the booth! We could have used an extra hand or two at times! I had one customer email me after the show that she kept coming by the booth, but there was no room on the booth! Our promotional items were a great hit as well - nothing like seeing orange lanyards strolling the isles.
I knew it was going to be a great show and so did the AFS. Everyone I kept talking to before the show kept saying how successful it was going to be, based on attendance. I think the actual numbers of over 8,000 visitors, estimated, blew everyone away.
Well, must crack on...
But! Before I go I do want to thank everyone at AFS and Moderncasting for everything that they do - all day everyday!
Until next time, see you on down the road. The next major events that Synchro ERP will be at will the the ICI-Investment Casting Institute expo in Pittsburgh PA (October 2013) and then quickly followed on by the NFFS meeting in Scottsdale AZ.
