Synchro ERP wishes to congratulate the newest global metalcaster that has made the all important decision to go with the metalcasting specific solution - Synchro ERP.  We met this customer and gave them an indepth tour of the system last Thursday during the Metalcasting Congress, followed up with an online demonstration on Tuesday, and we now have a signed contract this evening!

Behind the scenes, the entire global Synchro team pulls together and gets deeper into the fox holes during the shows to allow a blitz attack.

Again, welcome to our newest customer!

WOW!

On behalf of the entire global Synchro ERP team, I want to thank you for visiting us at last weeks Metalcasting Congress.  It was an extremely successful show and we had the opportunity to shake a lot of hands, provide on-booth demonstrations, and learn about their global metalcasting needs.  We also had the pleasure of meeting up with many of those who make Synchro ERP what it is - our customers!

Our best thoughts are with Rolf Peterson of Modern Casting who was unable to attend the Metalcasting Congress due to an unfortunate accident with a ladder recently.  Rolf, your shoes were missed, but everyone did a great job of filling in for you.  We do hope that you mend well and soon.

I had the pleasure of attending the advertisers breakfast on Thursday morning, which was very well received.  The topic was making great use of internet tactics to bring in new customers.  A well made point was that there is a reason Apple has sold so many millions of the Ipads and Iphones - is that people are using them more and more and are relying on them.  It is not just a fad, but a true business tool that needs to be exploited to reach global metalcasters.

The presentation was put on by Ryan R. Dohrn, Founder and CEO of Brain Swell Media.  Many thanks to Modern Casting - Joe Murphy, Al Spada, Jim Beckwith - and everyone else for organizing this.  Also, many thanks to the entire Modern Casting and AFS Team for putting on a very impressive Metalcasting Congress.  The avenue in Columbus was fantastic and we lacked for nothing.

Some highlights of the presentation were:
01.  Using QR (quick response codes) and links, do not always send the user to the main website page.  Send them to something special that drives a specific product or promotion.  People no longer just surf the net, they go to specific places and are savvy enough to find your home page.
02.  People on the internet can find what they want and companies need to take them where they want to go.  You need to think like a potential customer and have outsiders review your web page and marketing strategy.
03.  Make sure that your internet presence takes potential customers to your webpage through tags from a search engine.  This is entering the terms that someone would enter when they do not know your company name, but are looking for a specific product.  Everyone's own webpage is at the top of the list, what you need is to have your company at the top of the list when someone enters generic terms.  Being anything but at the top of the list is not good - you want to be #1 on the search list as google is god and your company must rank #1.
04.  Companies must constantly work on customer retention and this is achieved by sending your customers electronic information such as periodic newsletters.
05.  Todays sales are often times "self service sales" - a McDonalds Drive Up type of sale.  Potential customers must be given the opportunity to learn about your products.  People will not buy what they do not understand.  There is often times a considerable amount of unattended information on a website.  Companies need to ask what a potential customer wants from the website and to get them into the sales cycle.  It needs to be a customer initiated plan with a customer education initiative.
06.  In today's world, people need stimulation and a lot of it.  Very short decently produced videos are great.  A website should be stimulating.  People use technology and it must be bigger, faster and more robust.  Potential customers must be walked through a process - "what we do" and have step-1, step-2, step-3, etc.
07.  According to the presenter, the single fastest way to lose a sale is through a customer submit form.  A response to an inquiry must be immediate.  Twenty-four hours is not fast enough.  People make decisions faster than ever before.
08.  Companies must use every avenue to reach customers - social media is one of them.  People use social media even if you do not or do not like it.  People also trust media outlets like magazines.  Advertising should be formatted for the IPAD - and have cyber advertising.  Put videos on a digital edition of an advertisement.  Have hot links to various pages of your website.
09.  A companies website is it's the face to the world.

Until next time, see you on down the road at the ICI show in October.  However, Synchro ERP has several upcoming exhibitions we will be attending.  Please keep abreast of all that is going on by visiting Synchro ERP Exhibitions
